Dr. Hussain enriched his understanding of Islamic studies through his time at a seminary in Pakistan and at Al-Azhar University, in Egypt. In 1995, he co-founded Jamia Al Karam, a Muslim boarding school in Retford, where he served as head teacher for three years. His leadership continued at the Karimia Institute, which he directed, overseeing around 20 impactful community projects.
A notable moment in his career was his involvement in the 2004 mission to secure the release of British hostage Ken Bigley in Iraq. This gesture underscored the solidarity of British Muslims.
